Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly on ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Set!
Meryl Streep Returns as Miranda Priestly in “The Devil Wears Prada 2”
Stars have begun filming the highly anticipated sequel in New York City, with Meryl Streep reprising her iconic role as fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly. Dressed in her signature icy white pixie cut and stylish attire—featuring a tan trench coat, purple blouse, and brown leather skirt—Streep was seen filming scenes on location.
The actress completed her look with dark sunglasses, embodying the formidable editor-in-chief. She was also spotted carrying a bedazzled water bottle on set.
The sequel, set to premiere in theaters on May 1, 2026, continues the story of Priestly navigating her career amidst the decline of traditional print magazines. The plot pits her against Emily, portrayed by Emily Blunt, now a top executive in the luxury advertising world, who holds sway over Priestly’s interests.
The returning cast includes Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, with new additions such as Kenneth Branagh, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, and B.J. Novak.
Hathaway, who plays Andy Sachs, was recently seen in NYC filming scenes in a cerulean sweater — a nod to the original movie’s famous costume. Fans believe “Cerulean” might also be the code name for the project during filming.
Hathaway has been photographed in a variety of fashionable looks in the city. The sequel is highly anticipated, and fans are eager to see how the story unfolds. Hathaway previously shared that she wasn’t fond of her method acting during the original production, describing the experience as miserable but now embracing the character once again.
