Four U.S. Cruise Passengers Arrested in Bermuda for Drug Possession

Authorities in Bermuda have detained four American cruise ship travelers on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs. The suspects were found with a substantial amount of substances, including cannabis and carfentanil—a highly potent tranquilizer used for animals like elephants, which is reportedly 100 times stronger than fentanyl.

The arrested individuals were also believed to have vape pens and THC-infused gummies in their possession. Bermuda police confirmed that security personnel aboard a Carnival cruise ship detained the suspects upon arrival to the island, a wealthy overseas territory situated in the North Atlantic Ocean.

Officers described the seizure as potentially preventing a serious incident, emphasizing the dangers linked to the drugs involved. They did not release further details about the individuals or the investigation.

Carnival Cruise Lines issued a statement reaffirming their commitment to law enforcement and policy adherence. The company emphasized a strict zero-tolerance approach to drugs and warned passengers that law enforcement actions can be taken depending on local laws.
