Hit-and-Run in NYC: Driver Strikes 3 Women After Early Morning Clash
Hit-and-Run Leaves Three Women Hospitalized in the Bronx
Over the weekend, a reckless driver struck three women in the Bronx during an altercation early Sunday morning. The driver, operating a blue Mitsubishi Outlander, engaged in a fight with a group on East Tremont Avenue near Puritan Avenue around 4:30 a.m. After the dispute, the motorist drove onto the sidewalk, hitting the women—aged 27, 31, and 40—who are strangers to him.
All three women were transported to Jacobi Medical Center, where they are reported to be in stable condition. Surveillance footage shows the vehicle initially veering off the curb and onto the street, then swerving onto the opposite sidewalk, just moments after someone appears to dodge the vehicle.
The driver, a man described as having a heavy build, was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants, white sneakers, and a red baseball cap. Authorities have released an image of him. The incident remains under investigation, and the reasons behind the initial confrontation are unclear.
Meanwhile, law enforcement continues their search for the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS or via their online platform. Tips can also be provided on social media @NYPDTips.
