ICE Arrests Convicted Child Predators in New Jersey
In a targeted operation in New Jersey, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents captured two migrants with serious convictions for involving minors in sexual crimes. The arrests occurred on Monday as part of efforts to apprehend particularly dangerous offenders deemed as the “worst of the worst.”
Both individuals, Nicolosa Garcia, 42, and Umana Saez, 36, were apprehended without incident after detailed surveillance by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Garcia, a Mexican national, was convicted of child endangerment, while Saez, from El Salvador, is a registered sex offender with a history of exploiting a minor.
Homeland Security investigators tracked Garcia to her residence in Union City using extensive surveillance, but she was not home during the stakeout. Instead, officers located her later at a construction site, where she was detained without resistance.
Saez’s family owns a residence in Newark, but he was found working at a local warehouse, which helped law enforcement locate him efficiently. He was arrested there after being identified through further investigation.
The operation began early in the morning, with agents observing and waiting patiently for their targets. Despite initial difficulties, persistent follow-up on tips and leads ultimately led to both arrests, removing these high-priority offenders from the community.
Homeland Security officials emphasized that such meticulous operations are vital for public safety and demonstrated the importance of unwavering patience and thorough investigation in apprehending dangerous individuals. The suspects are now facing deportation proceedings, with authorities committing to removing them from the country.
