Man Killed in Subway Stabbing Encounter
In a violent incident at the 14th Street Subway Station, a man armed with a knife was fatally shot after attacking another individual. According to authorities, the suspect, a 24-year-old man, slashed a 24-year-old victim in the lower torso during an altercation that began around 7 p.m.
The attacker then fled through the station’s mezzanine level. However, the victim and a companion quickly pursued him. They managed to disarm the suspect by grabbing his knife, and one of them fired a shot that struck him in the chest. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
The injured 24-year-old was transported to Bellevue Hospital and listed in stable condition. Both the suspect and the victim have been taken into custody but have not yet been formally charged as investigations continue.
