Two Men Jump Into New York City Waters in Separate Incidents

On Saturday morning, two individuals jumped into the East River from different locations, with at least one victim losing their life.

Williamsburg Bridge Incident

The first incident occurred around 8:30 a.m., when a man was seen jumping from the Williamsburg Bridge. Emergency responders pulled him from the water, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Witnesses reported seeing the man leap off and noted he was dressed fully and wearing a backpack.

Later, around 12:20 p.m., witnesses observed a second man jump into the river from a ferry landing on Randall’s Island. Like the first case, the individual was fully dressed and carrying a backpack. Rescue teams from the NYPD utilized aviation and scuba units to search for him, but he was not immediately located.
