Jordan Spieth Announces Birth of Third Child Before The Open

Professional golfer Jordan Spieth has shared via social media that his wife, Annie, has given birth to their third child, a son named Sully. Spieth revealed the happy news with an Instagram post shortly before the start of The Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

At 31, Spieth has built a successful career on the PGA Tour and married his high school sweetheart in 2018. The couple’s family grew with the birth of their first child, Sammy, in November 2021, followed by their daughter Sophie two years later. Their latest addition, Sully, completes their family of five.

“We added a new member to the foursome,” Spieth wrote in his post.

Next week, Spieth will make his 12th appearance at The Open, aiming for a strong result after his last victory at Royal Birkdale in 2017. His recent form hasn’t included a major win since then, with his only recent notable appearance being a withdrawal from the Travelers Championship due to a minor neck spasm, which he now reports is resolved.

Spieth’s performance at The Open will also impact his chances for the Ryder Cup, where he currently ranks 25th in the U.S. standings. A solid showing could boost his prospects for selection in the upcoming team competition.
