Paul Gascoigne Rushed to ICU After Collapsing at Home, Now Stable
English football legend Paul Gascoigne was hospitalized on Friday after collapsing at his residence. He was discovered semi-conscious by a friend in his bedroom in Poole, Dorset, and was immediately taken to hospital.
Initially placed in intensive care, Gascoigne has been transferred to an acute medical unit and is reported to be in stable condition. His friend Steve Foster, who found him and drove him to the hospital, confirmed that Paul is now out of danger and appreciated the support he has received from fans and friends.
Foster stated, “Paul is in hospital, which is the best place for him right now.” Fans are hopeful as Gascoigne continues his recovery over the next few days.
Gascoigne, known for his remarkable football career and struggles with health issues related to alcohol and mental health, has appeared more positive in recent times. Earlier this year, he shared that he felt healthier than he had in years and wanted to be recognized for his true self beyond the spotlight.
Throughout his life, Gascoigne has faced difficulties, including a turbulent marriage, a brief tenure as a manager, and longstanding issues with addiction. Despite these challenges, he remains a cherished figure in English football, having played for clubs like Newcastle, Tottenham, Lazio, and others, and earning 57 caps for England.
His health concerns have been ongoing, with past incidents including bankruptcy fears, legal issues related to alcohol, and other personal struggles. Nevertheless, there is optimism about his recovery after this recent incident.
He is expected to continue receiving medical care for several days as he recovers from this recent health scare.
