Riley Green Surprises Fans with ’90s Country Cover of Tim McGraw’s “The Cowboy In Me”
Riley Green Releases Acoustic ‘Midtown Sessions’ EP Featuring a Tim McGraw Cover
Riley Green surprised fans by releasing a new acoustic EP titled Midtown Sessions. The project features five stripped-down tracks, including his own songs “Worst Way” and “Jesus Saves,” as well as the popular “Change My Mind” and a new song, “Bartender In Destin.”
The EP also includes a cover of Tim McGraw’s classic hit “The Cowboy In Me.” Green has previously expressed admiration for McGraw’s music, having previously covered “Damn Country Music” on his 2023 album Ain’t My Last Rodeo.
Influenced by 90s country music, Midtown Sessions strips away excess noise, spotlighting Green’s Alabama-bred vocals. He shared, “I’ve always loved acoustic versions of songs, so I recorded a few just the way I originally wrote them.”
Track List:
- Change My Mind (Riley Green, Erik Dylan, Randy Montana)
- Worst Way (Riley Green)
- Jesus Saves (Riley Green)
- Cowboy In Me (Al Anderson, Jeffery Steele, Craig Wiseman)
- Bartender In Destin (Sam Banks, Nick Walsh)
Following the release of his latest album Don’t Mind If I Do, featuring the single with Ella Langley, Green continues to engage fans through his ongoing Damn Country Music Tour, which includes stops across the US, Canada, and internationally, with dates extending into November. Additionally, he will co-host the second annual Duckman Jam with Jamey Johnson, Drake White, and Lauren Watkins in November.
