Keegan Bradley Feels Bad After Beat Tommy Fleetwood at Travelers Golf Tournament
Keegan Bradley Reflects on His Post-Victory Emotions After Winning the Travelers Championship

Last month, Keegan Bradley edged out Tommy Fleetwood to claim victory at the Travelers Championship held at TPC River Highlands. This win moved Bradley into the top 10 on the U.S. Ryder Cup points list, a significant milestone for the American golfer.
For Fleetwood, who is still seeking his first PGA Tour victory despite having 42 top-10 finishes—more than anyone else without a win—the result was particularly tough. Fleetwood congratulated Bradley after the round, showing the respect between the two players. Interestingly, Fleetwood had previously praised Bradley as an excellent potential Ryder Cup captain, just after Bradley was appointed to the role.

Despite their mutual respect, Bradley admitted he felt remorseful about his celebrations immediately after sinking the winning putt. During an appearance on the Fore Play Podcast Plus, he shared that his joy was tempered by empathy for Fleetwood’s ongoing search for his first PGA victory.
Bradley’s Reflection on his Celebration
Bradley explained that, as Ryder Cup captain, he experienced a mix of emotions. “It was a cool moment. I truly felt for Tommy; I had a lot of respect for him,” he said. “In those moments after the win, I felt a bit guilty about how excited I was. That day, every hole he was cheered on, and I was about to burst with the pressure and adrenaline. Honestly, I blacked out and don’t remember everything. I genuinely felt for him, even though I was ecstatic to win.”
He emphasized that if the situation had been reversed, Fleetwood would have celebrated just as enthusiastically. Losing is an inherent part of competitive sports, and both players understand this reality.
Tommy Fleetwood’s PGA Tour Journey
Fleetwood has played 159 PGA Tour events without a victory, despite accumulating 28 top-5 finishes and 42 top-10s—a truly impressive record that highlights his consistency. His lack of wins in America remains a mystery given his strong performance numbers.
He needs perseverance, confidence, and continued effort. Fleetwood is undoubtedly capable of winning on the PGA Tour, and it’s only a matter of time before that elusive victory comes.
