Turkish Clubs Submit Low Bid for Man City’s Ederson as Replacement Hunt Begins

Turkish Club Makes Low-Offer for Manchester City Goalkeeper Ederson as Replacement Plans Emerge

Fresh reports suggest that Galatasaray, the Turkish champions, have submitted a surprisingly modest bid of €3 million (£2.6 million) for Manchester City’s veteran goalkeeper Ederson. The Brazilian international, who has been a key figure for City for the past eight seasons, is approaching the end of his contract, which expires next summer.

Ederson has made over 370 appearances for City, securing numerous titles including a Champions League trophy, six Premier League titles, and three Golden Glove awards. Despite interest from leagues abroad, he reaffirmed his commitment to City after discussions with manager Pep Guardiola, expressing his desire to continue at the club and aim for further success.

With only a year remaining on his current deal, speculation has mounted about his future, especially considering he’s nearing his 32nd birthday. Previously, he attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League, but he chose to stay with City.

Meanwhile, City is considering re-signing goalkeeper James Trafford, who is currently with Burnley after leaving City’s academy. Trafford remains an option if City’s two senior goalkeepers, Ederson and Stefan Ortega, depart this summer. City holds a buy-back clause for Trafford, which has complicated a proposed transfer to Newcastle.

Sources indicate that City had also been monitoring Porto’s Diogo Costa as a potential replacement in case Ederson leaves. Ederson, signed for £35 million from Benfica in 2017, has been instrumental in City’s success over the years.

Following interest from Galatasaray, Ederson expressed his desire to remain at City, emphasizing his focus on winning more titles, including the Champions League. His thoughts reflect a player committed to the club despite ongoing rumors and managerial changes.
