Gym Teacher’s Creepy Incident with Student and Threats Revealed
Yonkers Middle-High School Teacher Arrested Amid Allegations of Inappropriate Behavior
A physical education teacher at Yonkers Middle-High School has been taken into custody following serious accusations of misconduct involving a female student. The teacher, identified as 59-year-old Matthew Hausman, faces multiple charges related to harassment and endangering the welfare of a minor.
Authorities allege that Hausman made inappropriate comments and romantic overtures towards the student, including sending her suggestive texts. In one disturbing incident, he reportedly called her a “bitch” while holding a dog collar in his hands and hinted at wanting her to wear it. Prosecutors also accuse him of kissing the girl on her birthday and asking if she was “ghosting” him over text messages.
The investigation revealed that the misconduct dates back to at least October 2024, with allegations that Hausman discussed exchanging his children and wife in return for the student’s reciprocation. Other messages included threats and expressions of romantic interest, despite knowing such feelings were inappropriate.
Images from the school show Hausman in the classroom of the school, which serves students from sixth through 12th grade. The district attorney emphasized that the community’s vulnerable children must be protected, condemning any exploitation or abuse.
Hausman also allegedly expressed romantic feelings for the student and complained about her interactions with other students, including a teenage boy. According to prosecutors, he admitted to having feelings that he recognized were wrong.
The teacher was charged with harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. He pleaded not guilty and was released, as the charges did not meet bail criteria. A temporary order of protection was issued to safeguard the victim. Hausman’s lawyer declined to comment.
The school district has yet to release an official statement regarding the allegations.
