Trump’s Base Demands Truth on Epstein & Injustices, Regardless of ‘Hoax’ Claims

Despite efforts by President Trump and the White House to dismiss the Jeffrey Epstein scandal and shift focus away, recent polling indicates that the controversy remains significant. A Rasmussen poll of 1,164 likely voters from July 8-10 shows only 21% believe the FBI and DOJ are truthful about Epstein, who died in jail in 2019. While officials like FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Dan Bongino insist Epstein’s death was a suicide, only 31% of voters share that belief.

The poll reveals that a majority—68% of Democrats, 66% of Republicans, and 69% of independents—believe the Epstein case is unresolved and that influential, wealthy offenders may still evade justice. This widespread distrust underscores a broader issue: accountability for past crimes against the American people.

In recent social media posts, Trump expressed frustration, condemning the Epstein matter as a “scam” and criticizing supporters who buy into the narrative. He criticized the “weaklings” who continue to propagate the Epstein hoax and emphasized his focus on working from dawn to midnight on issues he considers more pressing.

Reflections on Political Accountability

The scandal highlights the lack of justice for crimes and misconduct by powerful figures. Despite Epstein’s death—either by suicide or possibly assisted—the cases against his associates, such as Ghislaine Maxwell, remain active. However, accountability for broader misconduct, including agency abuses and political weaponization, is lacking.

Many believe that the FBI and DOJ have been entangled in partisan conflicts, interfering in elections and targeting political opponents, with little to no repercussions. Former Director Chris Wray’s claims about errors in past investigations contrast with revelations that memos targeting traditional Catholics were distributed widely within the FBI.

Critics argue that transparency is vital. They suggest the FBI release comprehensive timelines, detailed flowcharts, and hold press conferences to clarify the Epstein case and address allegations of corruption and cover-ups, including whether Epstein was an intelligence asset. Ultimately, calls for accountability extend beyond Epstein to the deep state’s alleged efforts to undermine Trump and his supporters, as well as transparency concerning COVID-related censorship and misinformation.
