This Week in Whoppers: Newsom, Trump, Hunter & More!
Diary of Disinformation and Delusions
Criticism of Trump
Gavin Newsom recently expressed disdain for Donald Trump, saying, “That’s what I don’t like about this son of a bitch [Trump]… Model better goddamn behavior.”
He also called Trump “scum,” “disturbed,” “a broken person,” and “damaged goods.” Over the weekend, Newsom criticized JD Vance for visiting Disneyland with his family—raising questions about what constitutes “good” conduct.
His moral lecture is somewhat undermined by his own use of profanity during speeches, making his complaints seem less sincere.
Hunter Biden’s Claim
Hunter Biden stated, “We lost… because we did not remain loyal to the leader of the party,” referencing his father’s failed re-election bid.
Many see this as sour grapes, noting Hunter’s financial troubles and lack of sales for his artwork, especially after his father left office amid issues like inflation and border problems. The notion that Biden would have won if Democrats stuck by him appears unfounded, given his declining popularity before the campaign’s end.
Commentary on Political Accountability
Whoopi Goldberg defended figures like Barack Obama and Mark Cuban, claiming they are “pointing the finger at the wrong person.”
However, Obama urged Democrats to “toughen up” and stop “navel-gazing,” while Cuban criticized the party’s messaging as simply “Trump sucks.”
Goldberg objects to Democratic complaints about Trump, but many argue that voters are weary of Democratic accusations and empty rhetoric, warning party leaders to heed these criticisms.
Opinion on Immigration Reform
Blas Nuñez-Neto, a Biden border adviser, suggested ways to fix the immigration system. Yet, critics see him as an unreliable source, noting his admission that overall border management failures contributed to distrust in Democrats and helped Trump’s rise. Relying on his advice might be like consulting someone with repeated failed relationships for relationship guidance.
