Jax Taylor’s Next Chapter: Life After Rehab & Mental Health Challenges
Jax Taylor Temporarily Leaves “The Valley” to Focus on Personal Well-being
Jax Taylor has announced he will be stepping away from filming the upcoming season of “The Valley”. In a statement, he explained that after a difficult year and honest discussions with his team, his priority is now on maintaining his sobriety, mental health, and co-parenting his son, Cruz.
“I need this time to focus on becoming the best version of myself, especially for Cruz,” he shared. A close source indicated that this departure doesn’t rule out a future return, with everyone supporting his journey toward better health.
Taylor is currently in recovery after multiple attempts at treatment for cocaine addiction, which he has openly discussed. During a recent interview, he admitted, “I don’t think I have an alcohol problem, but I can’t do cocaine without drinking, so I’ve given up both. I’m proud to be 82 days sober.”
His personal struggles have been public, especially amid his ongoing divorce from Brittany Cartwright, whom he separated from after five years of marriage and the birth of their son, Cruz. Brittany filed for divorce in August 2024, citing custody concerns and Taylor’s substance issues as sources of tension. Their tumultuous relationship and custody disagreements have played out on “The Valley” Season 2.
In addition to his addiction, Taylor was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD last year, which he emphasized as lifelong battles he strives to control. Once a breakout star on “Vanderpump Rules”, Taylor was fired from that show in 2020 after controversial remarks but later returned for “The Valley”.
Everyone close to Taylor wishes him well on his recovery journey, with hopes that he can return to the show someday.
