Denise Richards Claims Husband Aaron Phypers Threatened Her Life During Violent Outbursts
Actress Denise Richards Receives Restraining Order Amid Allegations of Abuse
Denise Richards has obtained a restraining order against her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, citing multiple allegations of domestic violence. In court filings, the 54-year-old “Wild Things” actress described several violent incidents, including threats to kill her and himself if she involved law enforcement.
Richards claims that during their relationship, Phypers often physically assaulted her, choking her, grabbing her head and arms, slapping her, and slamming her head into fixtures. She also alleges that he bruised her eye in 2022 when he called her a foul name and struck her in retaliation for her concerns about his paranoia over listening devices planted in plants at his Malibu office.
In another altercation, Richards states Phypers became violent after she decided not to have him accompany her on a work trip. According to her account, he forcibly slammed her to the ground and expressed anger over her decision to cancel his flight.
Richards also presented photos showing bruises and injuries she attributes to him. A court has ordered Phypers to stay at least 100 yards away from Richards and her property, including her home and vehicle. Their next hearing regarding the restraining order is scheduled for August 8.
This development follows Phypers’ recent divorce filing, in which he cited “irreconcilable differences” and requested spousal support. The couple, who married in 2018, had reportedly been experiencing significant turmoil, with reports describing their relationship as “toxic” and rife with constant disputes.
Recently, Phypers was spotted without his wedding ring, days after filing for divorce. The separation appears to be ongoing amid these serious allegations.
