Rashford Targeted by European Giants as Man United Exit Nears
Marcus Rashford Targeted by European Clubs Amid Manchester United Exit Rumors
Several top European clubs are showing interest in acquiring Marcus Rashford as he edges closer to leaving Manchester United. Juventus has recently emerged as a strong contender, with reports suggesting they are exploring a potential deal for the 28-year-old forward.
Rashford has publicly expressed his desire for a new challenge, signaling an exit from United after a long-standing career that started at age seven. Last season, he spent the latter half on loan at Aston Villa, scoring four goals, but Villa decided not to sign him permanently. Currently, he is under contract at United with three years remaining on his lucrative £300,000-per-week deal.
While Barcelona is considered a favorite destination, the Spanish club has reportedly been in talks with Rashford’s representatives and his brother. The player’s high wages are a potential obstacle, and Spanish sporting director Deco has reportedly voiced reservations, prioritizing squad departures to free up salary space.
Meanwhile, Premier League club Fenerbahçe appears interested, with reports indicating they are willing to meet his £40 million valuation, especially if Rashford chooses to join them under former United manager Jose Mourinho.
Manchester United has been separating Rashford and other players deemed surplus to requirements, training them away from the main squad during pre-season. Rashford has also lost his No.10 shirt to new signing Matheus Cunha.
Other United players from the so-called ‘bomb squad’ include Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia, all of whom are being kept separate from the first team during training. Garnacho aims to stay in the Premier League, with interest from Aston Villa, Chelsea, and Tottenham, while Sancho has been linked with a loan move to Juventus. Antony could return to Real Betis, and Malacia is available after a stint at PSV Eindhoven last season.
Whether Rashford’s next move will be to Juventus, Barcelona, or another club remains uncertain, but his departure could reshape the transfer landscape for European giants seeking top talent.
