Prince Andrew’s Epstein Ties: Disgraced Duke Fearful to Enter U.S. Soil
Prince Andrew Avoids Returning to New York Amid Ongoing Scandal
The Duke of York remains extremely reluctant to re-enter the United States due to his controversial ties to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender who was closely associated with the financier. Insiders suggest that Andrew fears legal repercussions and public backlash that could follow any visit to New York City.
According to claims from broadcaster Helena Chard, Andrew is “petrified” of returning to New York, instead preferring to stay at his residence, Royal Lodge. His social circle has shrunk, and he feels increasingly isolated as scandals and accusations regarding his friendship with Epstein continue to surface.
Chard indicates that Andrew is worried his association with Epstein could lead to a humiliating arrest if he revisits the U.S. She is also highlighting recent revelations of emails suggesting his communication with Epstein persisted beyond 2010, which raises further questions about his involvement.
One court-disclosed email from 2011 allegedly from a member of the British royal family to Epstein included a message: “Keep in close touch, and we’ll play some more soon.” This has intensified scrutiny over Andrew’s dealings with Epstein and his ongoing legal challenges.
Despite previous claims of cooperation with the FBI, many believe it is unwise for Andrew to visit the U.S. given the current hostility and legal hurdles. Various sources also suggest the royal family is increasingly distancing itself from him, especially after his 2019 BBC interview where he described Epstein visits as a “wrong decision.”
Accusations from Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who claims she had multiple sexual encounters with Andrew at Epstein’s behest starting at age 17, continue to cast a shadow over his reputation. Although he denies wrongdoing, his public image has suffered greatly, leading to his withdrawal from royal duties.
Experts anticipate Andrew’s avoidance of America will persist, fearing both legal action and continued embarrassment for the royal family. As ongoing investigations and public opinion mount, his presence in the U.S. seems unlikely to happen anytime soon.
