NJ Teacher Laura Caron Charged with Student Sex Abuse

Teacher Charged with Abuse and Infant Custody

A South Jersey elementary school teacher appeared in court under a worried and exhausted appearance, facing serious charges related to sexual misconduct and resulting child custody issues.

Laura Caron, 34, a fifth-grade teacher at Middle Township Elementary, was arraigned and pleaded not guilty. She was dressed in a white blouse and navy pants during the court session.

Caron is accused of sexually abusing a student over a four-year period from 2016 to 2020, starting when the boy was only 11 years old. Allegations also include that she gave birth to a girl fathered by the victim in 2019, when he was 13 years old.

The case gained additional attention after the victim’s father publicly shared concerns last December, stating that Caron’s baby resembled both him and his son. Authorities arrested her on January 15 following these revelations and ongoing investigations.
