Teacher Charged with Drugging and Abusing Young Children

Teacher Confesses to Drugging and Abusing Multiple Children

A teacher from Nevada has admitted to administering sedatives and sexually abusing numerous children, including a toddler neighbor, according to authorities. Taji Hillson, 62, was taken into custody in Reno on July 2, shortly after sending an apology to a family member who accused her of sexual assault spanning her entire life.

The victim, now an adult, reported the abuse in April, sharing text messages where Hillson confessed to drugging her with Benadryl in her food and touching her inappropriately while she slept. During police interviews, Hillson confirmed ongoing abuse since the girl was a child, continuing into her college years, citing feelings of loneliness and a desire for closeness as reasons.

Extent of Abuse

Police state Hillson acknowledged abusing at least a dozen other children, including a two-year-old neighbor at a local pool. She is currently charged with several offenses, including sexual assault of a minor under 14, lewdness, and sexual assault, though victims do not appear to be students at her school.

Employment and Investigation

Hillson was employed at Roy Gomm Elementary School from 2022 until June 2025. Authorities have found no evidence suggesting she harmed any students during her tenure. The charges relate primarily to her interactions outside of her professional role. Bail has been set at $5 million, and she faces multiple serious allegations.

Official Statement

The district attorney condemned the case’s disturbing nature and praised the bravery of the adult victim for coming forward. Law enforcement continues to investigate the full scope of Hillson’s misconduct, emphasizing the importance of reporting such abuse to protect others.
