Man United Negotiates Lower Fee with Juventus for Jadon Sancho Sale
Manchester United Negotiating Lower Fee for Jadon Sancho Sale
Manchester United is in discussions with Juventus to reduce the transfer fee for Jadon Sancho, with the Italian club refusing to meet the initial £25 million asking price.
Sancho, who transferred to United in 2021 for £73 million, has less than a year remaining on his contract after an underwhelming stint at Old Trafford. He spent last season on loan at Chelsea, who chose not to buy him permanently due to wage demands, instead paying United £5 million to terminate the loan.
Earlier reports indicated Juventus’s interest in Sancho, but the club has signaled they are unwilling to pay the previously set £25 million. According to reports, United has come to accept that they will need to lower their asking price and are preparing to negotiate accordingly.
Sancho is reportedly eager to join Juventus and is willing to wait for the deal to materialize. He is prepared to accept a significantly reduced wage—around €8 million (£7 million) annually—compared to the £300,000 weekly he earns at Manchester United.
Juventus has increased discussions with United to formalize a deal, and there is talk of including other players in a potential swap. Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio mentioned that Juventus might send three players—Douglas Luiz, Dusan Vlahovic, and Timothy Weah—to Manchester United in exchange, though it remains unclear if all would be part of the deal.
Sancho’s limited success last season, with five goals and ten assists, has made him a candidate for a fresh start in Serie A. Meanwhile, a group of United players, including Sancho, has been told to stay away from pre-season training at Carrington, as they explore potential departures.
