Columbus Short’s Wife Gets Restraining Order Amid Allegations of Abuse
Actor Columbus Short’s Wife Obtains Restraining Order Amid Domestic Violence Allegations
A judge has granted a temporary restraining order to Aida Abramyan-Short, the wife of actor Columbus Short, following allegations of domestic violence. Aida claims that Short, who is known for his role in “Scandal,” drunkenly attacked her during a heated argument at their home on July 7.
According to court documents, Aida described the incident where Short, reportedly intoxicated, began yelling at her and then became physically violent. She alleges he pushed and grabbed her before placing both hands around her neck to choke her. She told the court she screamed for help, and neighbors heard her shouting before calling the police.
Photos provided by Aida show bruises, scratches, and a black eye she says resulted from the attack. She also accused Short of having a severe drinking problem that increases his aggression, mentioning his previous arrest for DUI. Aida expressed concern over her and their children’s safety, stating that Short has been verbally abusive in front of their kids and has threatened her with a knife.
While the court granted the restraining order, Aida’s request for sole temporary custody of their two children was denied. Short’s representatives have yet to comment publicly on the matter.
This incident follows a week after Short was granted a temporary order against Aida. He claimed she kicked their puppy and attacked him on the same day, leading to a police visit where he was found bruised and subsequently arrested. Short also accused her of being verbally abusive and threatening him with a knife in the past. The couple, who have been married since 2016, share two children.
