Trump: US to Send Missiles to Ukraine

U.S. Plans to Send Patriot Missiles to Ukraine Amid Escalating Conflicts

The United States has announced it will deliver Patriot air defense missiles to assist Ukraine in its ongoing conflict with Russia. The decision follows remarks from President Trump, who criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin for allegedly offering insincere diplomatic gestures while continuing military offensives that cause civilian casualties.

While Trump did not specify the number of Patriot missiles to be supplied, he assured that the European Union would cover and reimburse the U.S. for the costs involved. The move underscores the escalating U.S. support for Ukraine as the country faces renewed Russian missile and drone attacks.

Recently, Ukraine has been subjected to intense assaults, including four major Russian strikes within this month alone. These attacks involved hundreds of drones and missiles, notably Iranian-made Shahed drones, which have resulted in casualties and destruction. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has repeatedly called for increased defensive weapons to counter daily assaults on key cities.

Ukraine’s recent battles have claimed at least 13 civilian lives, with targets increasingly extending into western regions previously considered safe. The barrage included 623 drones and 26 missiles in a single attack, highlighting the severity of Moscow’s ongoing military pressure.

President Trump expressed concern over Russia’s tactics, criticizing Putin’s double-faced diplomacy and promising military aid. He stated, “We will send Patriots, which Ukraine needs badly, because Putin often talks nice but then bombs indiscriminately. It’s troubling.”

Furthermore, Trump plans to meet with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to discuss Ukraine and other security issues. He emphasized that the U.S. would provide Ukraine with various advanced military equipment, with the country paying the full costs, reflecting a firm stance on supporting Kyiv’s defense efforts.
