Trump Shows Cognitive Decline During NATO Meeting
Trump Discusses Ukraine Aid and Peace Prospects at White House Meeting
The discussion at the White House centered on military aid to Ukraine. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte managed to keep the focus on Ukraine, and overall, the meeting proceeded smoothly. During the session, President Trump announced that the United States is supplying additional weapons to Ukraine via NATO.
However, the conversation took a turn when Trump was asked if boosting aid to Ukraine could lead to peace. He responded with a perspective on the broader context of the conflict, emphasizing the fighting spirit of European countries. Trump noted, “Europe has a lot of spirit for this war. When I first got involved, I didn’t believe they did, but they’ve shown otherwise.” He expressed admiration for their commitment, stating, “Most of you were there a month ago, and the esprit de corps among Europeans is remarkable.”
Trump also highlighted that European nations are shouldering the financial burden themselves, emphasizing the importance of this support. He pointed out that the U.S. is not paying more and that the geographical separation—an ocean—should be considered in the U.S. approach. Furthermore, he criticized current leadership, asserting, “Biden should have acted on this years ago and from the start, but he didn’t.”
