Brooklyn Showcases Fire-Spewing Instruments
Unique Fire-Infused Performances at Brooklyn’s Mechasonic Sessions
While pyrotechnics at concerts are common, an event where musical instruments emit fire is truly one-of-a-kind.
Performances by Fire the Band took place over two nights at Brooklyn’s Chocolate Factory, a warehouse on Scott Avenue in East Williamsburg, as part of their Mechasonic Sessions series.
Numerous artists joined forces in these experimental sound collaborations, creating a powerful combination of music, dynamic lighting, and fire displays.
Innovative Musical Expression
Stefan Zeniuk, the event’s musical director, explained, “This setup offers artists a platform to create things impossible elsewhere. It’s designed for musicians and creators to push boundaries.”
Now in its fourth edition, the event aims to explore the potential of immersive musical experiences, not only for audiences but also for performers and inventive thinkers.
Continuous Innovation and Safety
“We’re constantly experimenting with new sounds and techniques,” said Cortier. His trombone is equipped with a propane system to produce fiery blasts.
Stefan Zeniuk, conducting the band, emphasized, “Our goal is to innovate and generate new sonic effects, always seeking fresh ways to push creative limits.”
The last event, held two years ago, drew 600 attendees and even included a visit from the FDNY. Zeniuk cheekily noted, “So far, there have been zero injuries.”
