In 2024, Maine led the nation in per capita searches for adult websites, with approximately 14.7 searches per person. The state recorded about 280,000 searches, out of a population of 1.4 million.

Following closely was Georgia, with 13.9 searches per resident, and Utah, with 10.4 searches per person. Colorado saw over 4.4 million searches, averaging about 6.1 per individual.

California, with its nearly 40 million residents, ranked fifth with about 2.9 million searches, equating to roughly 5.5 searches per person. New York and New Jersey also made the list, with New York conducting 481,000 searches (4.75 per capita) and New Jersey about 325,000 searches (3.62 per person).

In contrast, Illinois had the fewest searches nationally, with just 178,000, or around 1.16 searches for every person.
