Actor Michael Madsen Passes Away at 67

Renowned actor Michael Madsen, known for his roles in films like Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill, has died at the age of 67, reportedly due to a cardiac arrest. His passing was confirmed by his representatives.

Michael’s sister, Virginia Madsen, has expressed her sorrow, recalling their close bond and mutual support in their acting pursuits. She shared a heartfelt tribute, describing him as “thunder and velvet,” a poetic spirit cloaked in mischief and tenderness. Virginia emphasized that her brother was a vibrant presence in life and remains a cherished memory.

She reflected on the impact Michael had on those around him, noting his loud, brilliant nature and the echoes he leaves behind as a blend of legend and lullaby. Virginia added, “I’ll miss our inside jokes, the laughter, and the boy he was before the legend.”

According to his manager, Michael was found unresponsive at his Malibu home Thursday morning. At the time of his death, he was working on a book titled Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems, which is now in the process of being edited.

Throughout his career, Michael collaborated frequently with his sister Virginia; they portrayed fictionalized versions of themselves in a 2007 mockumentary, Being Michael Madsen. The film featured appearances from other notable actors like David Carradine and Daryl Hannah.

Virginia concluded her tribute by sharing her gratitude for the outpouring of love and support, saying, “We stay close now, letting silence speak what words cannot.”
