Donald Trump often appears as an impulsive figure who seeks to mask his vulnerabilities through threats and intimidation. As he ages and his influence wanes, his demeanor has taken on a more sad and desperate tone, clinging to old grudges against perceived enemies.

Recently, Trump posted on Truth Social, saying, “Because Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am considering revoking her citizenship. She poses a threat to humanity and should remain in Ireland if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!”

This incendiary comment underscores Trump’s desire to wield unchecked power and his belief that he can decide what is best for the nation. Such thinking reveals a fundamentally undemocratic mindset rooted in fantasies rather than realities.

Trump’s actual abilities do not include changing election laws via executive orders, removing citizens’ rights, or solving complex geopolitical issues overnight. His success has been largely based on convincing Americans of his false narratives, not on practical governance. Reality, however, tends to challenge these illusions once in office, leaving the nation in a state of disillusionment.

He cannot strip Rosie O’Donnell’s citizenship, alter laws unilaterally, or resolve international conflicts instantly. These are illusions fuelled by his delusional views. The harsh truth is that the current political landscape, led by the right-wing Republican establishment, is far more difficult for ordinary Americans than Trump’s exaggerated fantasies suggest.

Trump’s recent outbursts, such as attacking O’Donnell, signal a man in decline, unmoored from reality and sinking into frustration. His threats serve as a symptom of his diminishing influence and mental state.
