Trump Mulls Revoking Rosie O’Donnell’s Citizenship
President Considers Revoking Rosie O’Donnell’s U.S. Citizenship Amid Political Feud
In a provocative statement, President Donald Trump indicated he is contemplating stripping actress and former talk show host Rosie O’Donnell of her U.S. citizenship, citing her perceived disloyalty and political stance. Trump posted on social media that O’Donnell is “not in the best interests of our Great Country” and that he is giving “serious consideration” to revoking her citizenship, suggesting she should remain in Ireland if she chooses.
O’Donnell responded swiftly with her own social media posts, sharing a meme comparing Trump’s threats to evict her to a cockroach trying to remove a lighthouse, calling him an “infestation.” She further posted a collage of images featuring Trump with Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and others, alongside a social media screenshot urging Trump to “STOP TALKING ABOUT JEFFREY EPSTEIN.”
The actress also shared a series of posts denouncing Trump as a “criminal con man,” accusing him of being a “dangerous old soulless man with dementia” and expressing her decision to relocate to Ireland earlier in the year. O’Donnell highlighted her efforts to teach her children about questioning authority and standing against corruption, contrasting her values with Trump’s actions.
She outright dismissed Trump’s threats to revoke her citizenship, calling him a “bad joke who can’t form a coherent sentence” and signing off with a flag of Ireland. O’Donnell emphasized her independence, stating, “I’m not [his] to silence I never was,” and criticized his building of walls while she builds a life where her autistic child can thrive in a country “where decency still exists.”
The actress moved to Ireland in January, prior to Trump’s inauguration, and spoke about the benefits of living abroad, mentioning she feels healthier and sleeps better without the political stress back home. She conveyed her commitment to teach her children to challenge unfair power and expressed that she remains opposed to everything Trump represents.
