Snoop Dogg Denies Being a Traitor: “What’s Going On???”

Snoop Dogg Responds to Criticism Over Inauguration Performance

Snoop Dogg is addressing the backlash he faced after performing at the Crypto Ball during President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January. The rapper recently discussed the insults he received and explained that his performance was aimed at promoting financial literacy and supporting community initiatives.

In an interview on “The Breakfast Club,” Snoop clarified that his brief appearance—around 30 minutes—was for a positive purpose, helping foster connections and raise awareness about crypto and financial education in underserved areas. He emphasized that his actions over three decades, such as community activism, have demonstrated his commitment beyond his music and DJing.

Snoop made it clear that his performance did not signify an endorsement of Trump. He asserted his independence from political labels, claiming, “I represent the Gangster Party,” and stated that critics shouldn’t dictate his actions, even if they interpret his involvement as support.

He shared reactions from online critics, revealing that he often responds to hate with success and love. “If someone calls me a sellout, I confront them directly,” he said, recounting how he would message critics personally to understand their perspective.

In addition, Snoop reflected on how his history with Trump has evolved. Previously, he was openly critical of the President, depicting him as a clown in a 2017 music video and expressing disapproval of his presidency. However, more recently, the rapper expressed respect and even admiration, citing Trump’s pardon of Michael Harris as an example of his positive actions.

New Album as a Message

Releasing his album titled “Iz it a Crime?” on May 15, Snoop indicated it was a direct response to the criticism and controversy surrounding his recent performances. The album underscores his perspective and continues his tradition of blending social commentary with music.

Snoop Dogg’s journey reflects a complex relationship with politics and public perception, shifting from outspoken criticism to a more nuanced view, emphasizing love and respect despite past tensions.
