Scarlett Johansson Reveals the Wild Challenges of Her Jurassic Shoot

Scarlett Johansson Joins the Jurassic World Franchise in “Jurassic World Rebirth”

The movie will run for 2 hours and 14 minutes.

Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson has fulfilled a lifelong dream by entering the Jurassic Park universe with her role in Jurassic World Rebirth. In her debut appearance in the franchise, she portrays Zora Bennett, a resilient mercenary assigned to retrieve dinosaur DNA from a mysterious island deep in the ocean, where dinosaurs roam freely and survival is uncertain.

Johansson shared her excitement about joining the iconic series on a talk show, revealing that it was a childhood aspiration to be part of the franchise. “It was a childhood dream of mine to be in this movie,” she said. “I’ve been trying to get into the Jurassic universe for thirty years.”

Reflecting on her early experiences, she recalled being captivated by the original Jurassic Park film at age 10, which left a lasting impression on her childhood. She joked about how she managed to land her role, saying, “Turns out that if you harass Frank Marshall enough, you could get a job,” referring to the film’s producer.

The film, which has a runtime of 2 hours and 14 minutes, promises intense action and stunning visuals. The cast includes Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Mahershala Ali, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Ed Skrein, David Iacono, and Luna Blaise. They form a group of survivors navigating the perilous terrain of the prehistoric island.

Filming took place in unique locations like Malta and Thailand’s rainforests, contributing to the film’s authentic atmosphere. Johansson described the experience, saying, “We were really in the jungle. You’d be making coffee when someone would say, ‘They just found a scorpion on the coffee table,’ and you’d realize you were standing right there.”

For action scenes, Johansson climbed a rock wall, which was intense but manageable with proper training. She also mentioned the challenges of filming during monsoon season and dealing with unpredictable weather, humorously noting, “Mahershala Ali melted like a human candle.”

Despite the difficulties, Johansson expressed satisfaction with her involvement in the franchise, saying, “It was amazing to shoot in those majestic settings — even if I wished we were on a traditional set every day.”
