Ryan Seacrest’s Surprising Fear That Keeps Him From Marriage
Ryan Seacrest Shares Why He Doesn’t Believe He Will Ever Get Married
During a visit to his former show Live, Ryan Seacrest opened up about his personal life, including his views on marriage. While discussing his career and recent projects like Wheel of Fortune and American Idol, he also addressed a sensitive topic: his future in love and marriage.
Host Mark Consuelos remarked on Seacrest’s previous experience officiating a friend’s wedding, noting it was the closest he’s come to tying the knot. Seacrest revealed that he took an online course to become ordained, describing the process as more nerve-wracking than he expected. Although he talks a lot and is comfortable in front of crowds, officiating a wedding was uniquely daunting for him.
Reflecting on a recent wedding he attended, Seacrest said, “It’s as close to a wedding as I’ve ever been, and probably as close as I’ll get.” When asked about his thoughts on marriage, he admitted he’s given it serious consideration. “At this age—turning 50 in December—if I got married, I’d feel like I was running out of time, so what’s the point?”
Consuelos joked that Seacrest still has plenty of years ahead, prompting Seacrest to wonder aloud whether marriage influences the pace of life. Kelly Ripa chimed in, sharing that statistics suggest single men tend to have shorter lifespans, especially if they don’t have children. Ryan responded lightly, making a joke about spending quality time together and sharing a laugh with his co-host.
Seacrest’s most recent relationship was with model Aubrey Paige Petcosky from 2021 to 2024. Throughout his dating history, he has kept many relationships private, with past partners including models, actresses, and beauty queens.
