Rangers Set to Secure Djeidi Gassana Deal as Russell Martin Confirms Player Exit
Rangers Close to Signing Djeidi Gassama as Defender Prepares for Exit
Rangers are nearing the completion of a deal to bring winger Djeidi Gassama from Sheffield Wednesday. The move, confirmed by manager Russell Martin, faces delays due to ongoing issues at the Championship club, which have been publicly linked to financial difficulties.
Martin stated, “We believe everything is in place on our end. Given Sheffield Wednesday’s current challenges, we’re awaiting their final arrangements, but we expect Gassama to join us very soon.” The manager also highlighted Gassama’s unique qualities, saying, “He offers a different dimension to our squad, which we need. He will be a valuable addition.”
Djeidi Gassama is poised to join Rangers from Sheffield Wednesday.
The 21-year-old was a regular starter for Wednesday last season and is seen as an exciting new option for the Scottish club.
Additionally, Rangers have accepted a bid from FC Twente for defender Robin Propper. The 31-year-old, who joined Rangers from the Dutch club last summer, has struggled to adapt to Scottish football. Martin explained, “We’ve agreed to a transfer, and it now depends on Robin’s decision and personal negotiations.” He added, “If the move proceeds, it will be a good step for him.”
Meanwhile, midfielder Lyall Cameron expressed satisfaction with his move from Dundee, saying, “It’s been a big change, but I’ve settled in quickly. I’m enjoying my time here and aim to help the team succeed through hard work and performance.”
