Arsenal Nears £52 Million Signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea

Arsenal are close to completing a €52 million deal to sign winger Noni Madueke from Chelsea. The 23-year-old trained with his current team in New York before their upcoming Club World Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain, but it’s unlikely he will participate in the match due to the impending transfer.

Personal negotiations have already been settled, with Madueke agreeing to a five-year contract. He has been an integral part of Chelsea’s squad over the past season, including playing the full match in their Conference League victory over Real Betis, and has featured in the Club World Cup, though mainly as a substitute.

Madueke prefers to play on the right wing, a position currently occupied by Bukayo Saka at Chelsea. He is capable of playing on the left as well and has recently been deployed there for Chelsea. Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has indicated he is willing to let Madueke leave, emphasizing that only players happy to stay will remain.

While Madueke’s departure is imminent, Chelsea is bringing in promising talent Estevao Willian from Palmeiras to bolster their squad. Madueke’s move to Arsenal is seen as a strategic addition, particularly as he is left-footed with versatility to operate on either flank.

This transfer marks the second player Arsenal has secured from Chelsea this summer, following goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga’s move for €5 million.
