Robert Irwin Apologizes for Dining and Dashing

Over the weekend, Robert Irwin, son of the late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, shared a humorous story about his recent restaurant visit in Australia, which turned into an unintentional dine-and-dash incident.

In a selfie-style video, the 21-year-old conservationist explained that he was road-tripping along Australia’s east coast and stopped at Jetty Pavilion in Coffs Harbour for dinner, ordering a salad to go. He was soon greeted by fans eager to meet him, prompting Robert to interact with everyone before quickly leaving due to the busy atmosphere.

The next morning, he realized he had forgotten to pay for his meal. Embarrassed, Robert called the restaurant to settle the bill. The staff insisted it was no problem, expressing their admiration for his work and telling him to leave a positive review instead. He took to social media to support the establishment, praising the “fantastic local business” with a “great team” and “amazing atmosphere.”

Robert expressed his support for the restaurant, highlighting their great service and atmosphere.

He also pledged to pay for his meal during future visits, joking that “today is not the day I start my life of crime.” The staff, appreciating his honesty, told him not to worry and even suggested they might name a salad after him.

His sister, Bindi Irwin, cheerfully commented online, “Followed! Yay @jettypavilioncoffs,” while their mother, Terri Irwin, joked about trying a special salad named after Robert on her next trip.

Robert concluded by playfully saying he would avoid “stealing salads” during the remainder of his travels, emphasizing his gratitude and good humor throughout the situation.
