AngryGinge Arrested Over £30K Damage to F1 Car at Silverstone, Reveals 15-Hour Custody Ordeal
Streamer AngryGinge Arrested at Silverstone During British Grand Prix
Popular YouTuber and Soccer Aid participant, AngryGinge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, was detained at the Silverstone circuit last Friday. He, along with two other streamers, faced accusations of damaging an F1 car on display during the event.
According to Northamptonshire Police, the incident involved a classic car on exhibition, which reportedly sustained damages worth thousands of pounds after individuals accessed the display and entered the vehicle. Authorities identified three suspects aged 23, 25, and 27, who were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage but were later released without further action following a thorough investigation.

Social media footage showed AngryGinge being escorted away by police at the event. The other accused streamers, ‘Chazza’ and ‘SamHam,’ were also present at the scene. They deny causing any damage to a BWT Racing Point F1 car. A video captured Chazza approaching the display car prior to a cracking sound, with AngryGinge commenting, “I think the suspension on the car has just gone.”
Later, all three were questioned at a police station about the incident. AngryGinge shared his experience on TikTok, describing how they were detained for merely sitting in a car—an act he found trivial and unusual in the context of F1 events. He recounted their release, revealing a bizarre exchange with officers and describing the process as surprisingly informal, including offer of food and a quick release without formal charges.
Soccer Aid and a Controversial Challenge
Aside from the controversy, AngryGinge participated in Soccer Aid at Old Trafford, earning the Player of the Match award. During the game, he played a fierce challenge on former Manchester United star Carlos Tevez, resulting in a deep cut on Tevez’s leg. Ginge posted a picture of his injury on social media with a sarcastic caption, “cheers Tevez, t***.”
He later appeared on Twitch, boasting about his fame from Soccer Aid and even performed a reworded version of “Zombie” by The Cranberries, humorously singing about Tevez before humbly admitting, “he did score four” in the match.
