Exclusive: Dog Killer Threatens Owner in Prospect Park
Repeat Offender Threatens Park Visitors and Animals
An individual known for previously causing harm in Prospect Park has resurfaced, allegedly threatening both humans and dogs. The man, who has a history of violent behavior, reportedly returned to the park and made confrontational gestures towards park-goers, according to victims.
Jessica Chrustic, whose dog Moose was killed in a brutal attack three years ago, recounted an incident on April 23 when the same man threatened her outside the Picnic House. She described him as carrying a large stick and often seen with heavy bags, reminiscent of his past violent encounters, including the fatal assault on Moose.
Chrustic expressed frustration over the lack of police action, stating, “I filed a report, but nothing has been done.” She emphasized her concern about his presence and the threat he poses, not only to people but also to other animals.
Recently, another park visitor shared her encounter with the man, describing him as “extraordinarily aggressive.” She recounted how he lunged at her dog, a small schnauzer, after suddenly appearing nearby. Fearing for her pet’s safety, she quickly moved away and left the park, frustrated by his intimidating behavior.
The man’s menacing presence, often seen with a commanding stick, is a painful reminder for Chrustic of the violent day Moose was killed. She criticizes authorities for not intervening earlier, suggesting a lack of concern for mentally ill individuals who threaten public safety. Despite her efforts, she reports that authorities have yet to take meaningful action to address his behavior.
Chrustic hopes that increased awareness will prevent further harm, emphasizing, “No other dog should suffer Moose’s fate.” She remains vigilant, watching for the man’s continued presence in the park, while condemning the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
