‘Charles in Charge’ Alum Struggles to Find Dates in Hollywood

Actress Josie Davis Opens Up About Dating Struggles and Career

Many celebrities find it challenging to navigate the dating scene, and actress Josie Davis is no exception. Known for her role on the ’80s sitcom Charles in Charge, she recently shared her experiences with the difficulties of meeting people in Los Angeles.

Davis mentioned that she’s often perceived as intimidating by men, despite describing herself as a quirky, regular person. She tried using Raya, an exclusive dating app, but quickly got discouraged because she wasn’t receiving messages from potential matches, which she attributed to her not being a model or widely famous.

While her active dating life remains elusive, Davis has previously dated actors Jacob Young and Dax Griffin. Currently, she is focusing on her acting career and hosting her podcast, Success Road. She is set to star in Pardon Me: The Bevelyn B. Williams Story, a film premiering on August 15 that portrays the true story of Black anti-abortion activist Williams, with Davis playing a federal judge alongside Blac Chyna.

Last year, she visited California courts to prepare for her role and unexpectedly encountered heavily shackled MS-13 gang members on trial, just before the gang’s rise as a political issue in the presidential race.

In addition to acting and podcasting, Davis is active on TikTok, where she recently shared a humorous video about the paltry residual check ($6.06) she received from her role in Charles in Charge. Despite her early fame, she clarifies that she did not earn significant money from the series, often received minor residuals, and was paid modestly during her time on the show.

The sitcom followed Scott Baio as a manny caring for three children, with Davis portraying Sarah, the oldest daughter. Many fans mistakenly believe she still receives large residual checks, but she emphasizes that they were minimal, and she was just a kid when she starred in the popular series.
