Kyler Walker Joins Burnley in £5m Transfer from Man City After Milan Loan
Kyler Walker Joins Burnley from Manchester City in a £5 Million Deal
Burnley have secured the signing of defender Kyle Walker from Manchester City in a move valued at up to £5 million. The 35-year-old completed his medical on Friday and has signed a two-year contract at Turf Moor.
Walker, who spent last season on loan at AC Milan, made 16 appearances across all competitions for the Italian club. However, Milan decided not to exercise the option to make his loan deal permanent. During his time at City, Walker enjoyed a highly successful career, winning six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, the UEFA Super Cup, and the Club World Cup. He played a total of 319 matches for City, establishing himself as one of the top right-backs in Premier League history.
Despite his success at City, Walker’s stint in Italy was less impactful. His move to Milan was partly driven by family issues off the pitch, including challenges in his marriage and fathering children with different partners.
Walker’s arrival at Burnley marks their fifth signing of the transfer window, following recent acquisitions of winger Loum Tchaouna from Lazio, defender Axel Tuanzebe, left-back Quilindschy Hartman, and goalkeeper Max Weiss. The club is also negotiating the sale of goalkeeper James Trafford to Newcastle United.
