Biden Faces Challenges Setting Up Beach Chair in Malibu on First Post-Office Fourth of July
President Biden Enjoys Beach Day in Malibu During Independence Day Weekend
President Joe Biden was recently photographed struggling to set up a beach chair while relaxing with family near his son Hunter’s home in Malibu, California. This marked his first Independence Day weekend since leaving office. The 82-year-old former president appeared at ease lounging under a red umbrella alongside Jill Biden, with grandchildren Finnegan and Beau Biden Jr. playing nearby on the sand.
Throughout his presidency, Biden spent over 577 days of his 1,463-day term on vacation, including trips to luxurious destinations such as St. Croix, Nantucket, and family visits at Rehoboth Beach. Viral videos captured him stumbling on the sand and falling off his bike, fueling speculation about his mental and physical health.
On Thursday, Biden was seen shaking sand from his towel, sporting his signature aviators and a baseball cap, before packing up to leave. Later, he dined with Hunter at a popular Malibu sushi spot, Nobu, after attending a conference in San Diego. He emphasized to the crowd that he prioritizes family responsibilities and urges others to do the same.
This outing occurred shortly after Biden’s notably awkward debate performance against Donald Trump, which contributed to his decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race. His critics continue to question his mental clarity, citing investigations into whether aides used a mechanical signature device, the autopen, for official pardons and executive actions without full presidential oversight.
Additionally, questions about Biden’s cognitive health persist, with upcoming depositions planned for his personal physician concerning his mental fitness and recent prostate cancer diagnosis. Despite ongoing scrutiny, Biden has not released results from cognitive tests or PSA screenings conducted during his tenure.
