Miki Sudo Claims 11th Pink Belt at Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest
Miki Sudo Successfully Defends Title at Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest
Champion Miki Sudo defended her title at the annual Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, consuming 33 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. Although she didn’t match her previous record of 51 franks set last year, her victory marked her 11th consecutive win in the women’s division.
Expressing slight disappointment, Sudo reflected, “For some reason, the buns felt larger today,” but remained proud of her achievement. “I wasn’t the fastest at the start, but my consistency paid off. I refuse to give up—I get right back up when I stumble. Here’s to number 11!” she stated confidently.
Her challenger, Michelle Lesco, who previously won in 2021 when Sudo was pregnant, finished second with 22.75 hot dogs. Rookie contender Domenica Dee secured third place with 21.5 hot dogs.

Since her debut, Sudo has participated in numerous competitions, including a record 48.5 hot dogs in 2020. During this year’s contest, her husband noted she seemed a little nervous, possibly overheated, given the temperature around 80°F in Coney Island.
Commentator George Shea observed, “The dogs are slow today,” but remained confident in Sudo’s perseverance. “Miki will not stop,” he said, highlighting her unwavering determination.
