Julian McMahon, renowned for his iconic roles in both television and film, has died at the age of 56 after a private struggle with cancer. His wife, Kelly McMahon, announced his passing, stating he departed peacefully in Clearwater, Florida, on Wednesday, after making a courageous effort to fight his illness.

“Julian loved life, his family, his friends, his work, and his fans,” Kelly expressed. “His greatest wish was to bring happiness to others. We ask for privacy as we mourn his loss.”

McMahon’s acting journey began in 1989 with the Australian soap opera The Power, the Passion. He later appeared in shows like Another World, Profiler, and gained widespread recognition through his role as Cole Turner in Charmed. However, it was his portrayal of Dr. Christian Troy in the FX series Nip/Tuck that solidified his fame, earning a Golden Globe nomination in 2005.

He also starred as Victor von Doom, aka Doctor Doom, in the 2005 superhero film Fantastic Four, returning for its 2007 sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer. On television, he portrayed Jess LaCroix in CBS’s FBI: Most Wanted for three seasons and recently appeared in Netflix’s The Residence.
