Todd Chrisley’s Goal in Prison: Making Employees Miserable

Todd Chrisley Shares Prison Experience, Blames Corrections Staff for His Intentions

While incarcerated, reality star Todd Chrisley opened up about his prison mindset, revealing that his main goal was to make his jailers’ lives as difficult as possible. He explained that he viewed correctional officers as “miserable human beings” and that his daily aim was to increase their misery, believing they were there to make inmates’ lives hard.

Chrisley, 56, recounted his time at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, from January to May 2023. He claims that he actively sought to be disruptive because he felt the staff’s positivity was insincere and that they often acted to bring inmates down. He described the officers as “miserable,” and he responded in kind, asserting, “Every day, I got up and it was my sole intent to make their life even more miserable because they were there to make our lives miserable.”

His wife, Julie, agreed with his assessment, describing correctional officers as “miserable human beings,” and Savannah Chrisley remarked that Julie’s treatment appeared harsher at the Federal Medical Center in Kentucky after visiting both her parents in prison.

Julie Chrisley recalled being brought to tears by a quote from a food service worker.

Both Todd and Julie were convicted three years prior of bank and wire fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy. Todd received a 12-year sentence; his wife was sentenced to seven years.

In addition to prison stories, Todd recounted an incident involving a physical altercation with Rick Singer, the mastermind behind the college admissions scandal. He claimed to have threatened Singer during their encounter, saying, “I will rip your head off and s–t down your neck if you talk about my child again.”
