Sail4th 250: What’s Coming for America’s 2026 Semiquincentennial in NYC

New York Celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary with a Spectacular Week of Events

As part of the year-long festivities honoring the nation’s milestone, New York is set to host an extraordinary celebration spanning July 3 to 8, showcasing the city’s maritime heritage and global friendships.

Organized by Sail4th 250, the events will feature over 30 tall ships from international naval forces, a thrilling Blue Angels flight display, and exhibitions of rare historical documents. The culmination on July 4th promises the largest vessel parade in the port’s history, including at least 30 tall ships and 40 other vessels, surpassing the notable 1976 event.

These ships will enter from beneath the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge and dock at various ports in Staten Island, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, with military cadets from around the world offering public tours. A notable vessel, Cunard’s Queen Mary 2, will also be docked for visitors.

In addition to maritime displays, attendees can view historical artifacts such as 18th-century copies of the Declaration of Independence and speeches by Martin Luther King Jr. at the Intrepid Museum.
