The series, announced in June 2025, promises viewers a close-up view of cattle drives, unpredictable weather, and the daily struggles and triumphs of maintaining a family-operated ranch that has been in the Drummond family for over a century. Unlike her traditional TV segments, this show emphasizes the rugged realities of ranching life.

Growing up near a country club in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Drummond initially pursued journalism at the University of Southern California before switching to gerontology. A planned move to Chicago for law school was redirected after she met rancher Ladd Drummond, leading her back to Oklahoma and a life rooted in ranching.

Her rise to fame began with her 2006 blog, Confessions of a Pioneer Woman, which shared her ranch adventures, livestock stories, and hearty recipes. The success of her online platform led to multiple bestsellers and a popular Food Network show, The Pioneer Woman, filmed near Pawhuska, Oklahoma.

While her TV show offered glimpses of ranch life, Drummond Ranch on YouTube aims to bring viewers deeper into the daily grind. The trailer features her husband Ladd, their children, and ranch workers, showing moments such as wedding celebrations, cattle roundups, and market days. Ree invites viewers to “come along for the ride,” highlighting the land that has been in her family for generations.

Her daughter Paige has recently taken on more ranch responsibilities, acknowledging the hard work involved. The trailer has been well-received, with many praising the authentic portrayal of cowboy culture and ranch life.
