Elon Musk Praises Trump’s Foreign Policy Successes Amid Renewed Feud
Early Wednesday, billionaire Elon Musk acknowledged recent diplomatic achievements by President Donald Trump, praising his role in resolving international conflicts. Musk, 54, credited Trump for successfully ending several serious disputes around the globe, shortly after Trump, 79, announced efforts to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Trump stated that Israel had “agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize a 60-day ceasefire” in Gaza, warning that if Hamas rejects the deal, the situation could deteriorate further. His announcement comes just ahead of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming visit to the U.S., his third trip since the current president took office.
Initially, Musk’s praise marked a shift from recent tensions, including a spat over the controversial “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” which Musk criticized as “utterly insane” and “political suicide,” voicing concern over its impact on green energy subsidies. Musk also hinted he would support Republican Rep. Thomas Massie, a vocal critic of the bill, in next year’s elections.
Meanwhile, Trump made a provocative remark about Musk, suggesting he might deploy DOGE, the cryptocurrency, to “go back and eat Elon,” referencing alleged subsidies Musk receives. Trump also hinted at the possibility of deporting Musk to South Africa—though Musk has been a U.S. citizen since 2002.
Previously, Musk had called the bill “an abomination” and even suggested that Trump should be impeached and removed from office. Musk’s recent comments reflect his ongoing criticism of legislative measures affecting his business interests and political opinions.
In addition to political disagreements, Musk expressed regret over a stunt involving a chainsaw gifted to him by Argentina’s President Javier Milei at the Conservative Political Action Conference. Musk initially claimed the chainsaw was “for bureaucracy” but later remarked, “it lacked empathy,” acknowledging it was inappropriate behavior.
