Wife of Minnesota Shooter Vance Boelter Breaks Silence After Tragedy

Family Reacts to Politically Motivated Shooting Spree

The wife of alleged shooter Vance Boelter stated that her family was completely taken by surprise by her husband’s violent actions earlier this month, which resulted in the deaths of a lawmaker and his wife, and injuries to another couple.

Through her legal representative, Jenny Boelter expressed her shock and sorrow over her husband’s alleged involvement. She extended condolences to the families of the victims, including former State House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, as well as State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette, who were wounded in the attack.

Jenny Boelter, wife of the suspect, issued a statement after the shootings.

“Our hearts go out to those grieving during this tragic time,” said Boelter. “This violence does not reflect our family’s beliefs, which are rooted in our Christian faith. We are horrified and heartbroken for the victims and their families.”

The deadly shootings unfolded in Minnesota, with Hortman and her husband killed at their Brooklyn Park home, and their golden retriever, Gilbert, also dying in the attack. About 90 minutes earlier, Hoffman and his wife were shot inside their Champlin residence, approximately seven miles away.

Following the incident, Jenny Boelter was detained and questioned later the same day, as her husband was on the run. Authorities found a weapon, ammunition, cash, and passports in her vehicle, though she denied reports that she had been stopped by police that morning.

She recounted that she responded to law enforcement’s call by meeting officers voluntarily at a nearby gas station, cooperating fully with their investigation. Boelter was captured roughly 36 hours after the shootings near her home in Green Isle, about 50 miles southwest of Minneapolis. She remains in custody facing federal and state charges of murder and attempted murder.
