Kelce praises Swift’s ‘awesome’ surprise Nashville show
Travis Kelce Reveals Planning Behind Taylor Swift’s Nashville Surprise Performance
Travis Kelce shared insights into how Taylor Swift’s unexpected Nashville concert came together, indicating it was a well-thought-out plan. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end explained that the performance was “planned for a while,” and involved some playful arrangements with fellow performers.
Kelce recounted that Swift approached country artist Kane Brown during the event, inviting him to join her on stage. “She just went up to him and the band, saying, ‘Hey, if you guys are down, I’ll go up there and play a song and see if we can really excite the crowd,’” Kelce said on his podcast. Despite not rehearsing beforehand, Swift delivered a flawless rendition of “Shake It Off,” impressing everyone, including Kelce, who praised her ability to make people feel comfortable and confident as a performer.
Kelce mentioned that Swift was well-prepared, overseeing the musical notes and the band’s arrangements before taking to the stage. “She even was back there, writing out the high hats—she’s that talented,” Kelce added. The athlete caught her performance while singing along and dancing, stating she “killed it.”
The singer’s spontaneous performance, which she approached with confidence, has been widely celebrated. Kelce emphasized her professionalism, noting she “didn’t practice” the song but still performed virtually perfectly, with the band prepped and ready.
This surprise Nashville gig was just one of several recent public appearances for the couple. Kelce and Swift, who began dating in 2023, shared a romantic slow dance at an event the day prior to her Nashville performance. Since then, they have been spotted enjoying dinners together, including outings in New York City and near Kelce’s Ohio hometown.
Kelce praised Swift’s talent, saying she “absolutely rocked the stage again,” and revealed that her performance was a spontaneous but confident display of her musical prowess.
