Savannah Guthrie Opens Up About Her ‘Horrible’ Divorce and Year-Long Recovery

Savannah Guthrie Opens Up About Her Divorce and Path to Happiness

In a recent interview, Savannah Guthrie revealed that her divorce from her first husband was a deeply painful experience that took years to heal. She described the breakup as “horrible and sad” and confessed it “broke her heart.”

Guthrie was married to former BBC journalist Mark Orchard from 2005 to 2009, a relationship she met while covering the Michael Jackson trial. The couple did not have children together. Despite the emotional toll, she eventually moved on and married Michael Feldman in 2014, with whom she has two children, Vale and Charley.

She shared that opening up about her divorce was challenging, admitting it felt “too personal” and “embarrassing.” Remarkably, she said she received no pushback from her publishers regarding her boundaries on what to share, emphasizing the importance of setting limits. During her conversation, she highlighted a valuable lesson about maintaining privacy, especially for women, and recognizing that it’s okay to have personal boundaries in the public eye.
