Myles Turner Signs Four-Year Deal with Milwaukee Bucks

Myles Turner has agreed to a four-year contract worth $107 million with the Milwaukee Bucks, making him one of the top available centers in the upcoming NBA free agency period. The deal includes a player option for the 2028-29 season and a 15% trade kicker.

Turner recently completed an impressive 2024-25 season with the Indiana Pacers, averaging 15.6 points on efficient shooting, along with 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, and 1.5 assists per game. His contributions helped lead Indiana deep into the postseason, reaching the NBA Finals. Turner’s two-way impact was remarkable—one of only four players last season to record at least 100 blocks, 100 three-pointers, and 50 steals, alongside Victor Wembanyama, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Brook Lopez.

Defensively, Turner was a force, with opponents shooting 57.7% at the basket when he defended, ranking just outside the top 25 among players with at least 200 close-range attempts. When on the floor, opponents shot 63.4% at the rim—4.5% lower than when he was off the court—placing him third in the NBA for rim protection. Indiana’s defense, with Turner anchoring the paint, allowed just 112.7 points per 100 possessions outside of garbage time, a top-tier defensive metric that contributed significantly to their 50-win season and return to the Eastern Conference finals, their first NBA Finals appearance in 25 years.

Turner’s offensive game also saw career highs, with a 39.6% three-point shooting on 5.5 attempts per game, making him a versatile threat both inside and outside. His overall gameplay made him a key component for the Pacers and an ideal partner for star point guard Tyrese Haliburton, who praised Turner’s ability to unlock offensive potential.

Turner’s in-game toughness was evident throughout the Finals, especially in bodying up Chet Holmgren and maintaining high-level defense despite illness. His performances earned widespread recognition, shifting perceptions of him from trade rumor target to a modern NBA center—rim protector and floor spacer—valued by championship contenders. Reflecting on his career, Turner emphasized the importance of team success over individual accolades, with a focus on winning championships.

Now, with a substantial new contract and the confidence of the Bucks organization, Turner is positioned to influence the game significantly in the coming seasons as he aims to contend for an NBA title.
